Growing Wild Forest School is an all-outdoor, play-based nature connection preschool based in West Asheville serving children ages 3-6 during the school year and summer. We are the first program established by The Forest School Foundation, a 501(c)3 dedicated to making nature connection education accessible to all young children.
The Administrative Coordinator supports the teachers and Board with the administrative aspects of the school including communication, program registration, record keeping, planning, data management, billing and filing.
The Coordinator should be able to set their own work schedule and provide information and assistance on a timely basis. The position is expected to require about 18- 25 hours a week (depending on deadlines), but the coordinator should be available most weekdays somewhere within typical working hours to respond to inquiries from parents. This is a remote position, with the requirement to sometimes be available on location for events or meetings, or to deliver paperwork.
The Coordinator will need a reliable computer with good internet connection and will have access to a printer we provide.
Areas of Responsibility:
Basic understanding of school operation, including communication, enrollment, and record keeping
Manage Curacubby platform and support families in navigating the system
Handle correspondence (electronic, hard copy, and phone)
Be first line of communication between school and prospective families
Handle parent inquiries by phone or e-mail
Process bi-weekly payroll
Weekly posting to social media, regular e-newsletter collaboration
Coordinating with teachers to ensure efficient planning and execution of tasks
Coordinating with teachers to work ahead on the calendar year
Manage camp sign-ups, enrollments, communication
Printing and delivering documents to the school at least once per session
Handle program invoicing in Curacubby, and basic bookkeeping in Quickbooks Online
Attend monthly board meetings and take minutes
Work with the board to help with fundraising

Proficiency in Google Docs, Google Voice, MailChimp, and a willingness to learn our school data management program, Curacubby
Basic understanding of Quickbooks Online preferred
Wix website editing and building is a huge plus!
