We're hiring Substitute Teachers for the 2023-24 School Year
Position Overview:
Reports to Lead and Assistant Teachers on an as needed basis to fill in during a teacher absence
Areas of Responsibility:
Assist in providing quality care for children
Support Teacher with activities, songs, and daily rhythm as requested
Provide individual support to children as needed (help with shoes, hand-washing, etc.)
Practice clear and positive communication with parents and co-workers
Know and follow all safety guidelines, school protocol/procedures, and regulations
Follow GWFS employee policies
Must have regular availability, preferably Monday through Friday for occasional substitute needs
NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other duties to meet evolving program needs.
Preferred Qualities:
Experience working with children ages 3-6
Experience and/or training in child development, child psychology, and/or early childhood education
Knowledge of local flora and fauna, traditional/ancient skills such as tracking and handcrafting, and/or outdoor skills such as shelter-building and fire-tending
Nurturing, creative, mindful, and grounded personality
Enthusiasm for singing and storytelling
